  • How Green Works For Me: Meet Rachelle

She’s busy making relationships, she’s busy on the phones, she’s busy making appointments, she busy visiting people at their homes – she’s busy going about the business of energy efficiency, she is Rachelle Moses.

On a typical day at the office Rachelle is talking with people who know that this is Buffalo NY and that it does get cold outside. She is a Community Energy Advocate with PUSH Green (PG) and her job is similar to that of Alex’s, and Lin’s (who by the way has left us to take another position, we wish him well) – that is she helps people who are looking to make their home warmer, or more energy efficient.

She has lived in the Queen City all of her life. She is a product of the golden age of the city’s school system and has seen the city go through its ups and downs. “We help meet another need with the Green Jobs Green NY program, which could help decrease unemployment. People need decent wages and family sustaining wages” she says.

Rachelle is passionate about her work. I could just tell by listening to her on the phone helping a Buffalo area resident get into the PG energy and money saving program the Friends and Neighbor’s Program one afternoon. I asked her one final simple question “Rachelle why do you come to work every day”, “The opportunity to help others” is what she replied.

She is a lifelong Buffalo resident committed to the area, she is an energy efficiency professional, she is hard working, she’s Rachelle Moses your Community Energy Advocate, and she wants to meet you!

  • Contest Winners & 2nd Round Begins

We can’t thank everyone who participated in this contest enough. PUSH Green is an important part of bringing Buffalo and Western New York into the new age of energy efficiency reform. Without your support we are nothing, we’re all in this together.

Tell a friend, tell a friend of a friend – The Share the Savings Contest Round 2 begins! Share the Savings was such a SUCCESS that we are extending it into a second round! Anyone who was not a winner in the first round can build off of their previous number of referrals and will be in the running, along with any new participants who want to join. Round 2 of Share the Savings will go through May 1, 2013. We will announce the winner in mid-May. The top prize for this round will be a gift certificate to the Lexington Co-op.
